The Little Couple

I love this show! This couple is so cute! It's an inspiring and feel good show, not to mention how light hearted and funny this couple is at times when they are dealing with the ups and downs of everyday life. The show runs on TLC usually during the early fall season and you can watch episodes online.

The show is about Bill Klein and Jen Arnold, who are both under 4 feet tall, and their everyday lives together in an average sized world. We follow them through each show as they move to a new city, build from the ground up a new home, and make very big decisions involving the risks of planning a family. Jen and Bill want children but Jen cannot carry a child due to the dangerous risks for someone that is under 4 feet tall. So they both have decided that going with a surrogate would be safer.

Jen Arnold is a neonatologist at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston and Bill has his own sales business, which is a training and telecommunications business based in New York. Bill often has to commute for work and tries to make a long distance marriage work at times with Jen.

One of the purposes of their show is to inspire kids, with new diagnoses of spondylo-epiphyseal dysplasia, and their parents and to let them know that they can live fullfilled lives. They want these kids to know they can still find love and do what they want in life. I highly recommend this show to viewers!

Jersey Shore "We wanna watch"?

The "Jersey Shore" Show, hmmm ... these young adults, if you will, are making their fame out of drinking, "smooshing", fighting, and demoralizing themselves and their families in front of millions of viewers each week on MTV.

The boys on this show are basically there to flex their muscles and try to hook up with almost every female that is hot in their eyes and has a warm body. The girls on this show are not any better, but every now and then they'll throw in the occassional cat fight along with the drama.

I can't even begin to imagine how these parents of the "Jersey Shore" cast feel each week after seeing their kids performances. Mom and Dad, is the money your kids are making for each show worth the stereotype they will end up with later in life? Are these parents and the cast looking at the big picture here? It seems that the highest offer so far is that one of these guidettes has received an invitation to pose for Playboy, and it wasn't even for a cool million!

And one of the cast, SNOOKIE (below), is busy getting her drunk on and getting busted at the beach. She has been busted a couple of times. What a girl!

I wanna know what and where this cast will be in thirty years? Will they still be at the Jersey shore trying to flex their muscles and partying like there's no tomorrow? I guess we will all have to wait and see ... I for one will not be waiting to see!

The Biggest Loser Show

Well you knew this one was coming sooner or later. I have to admit that I do watch this show occasionally when its on. I love to see the determination, friendships and success of these contestants. But this show has come up in the news again charging that the media is exploiting overweight people and that the treatment of the contestants is harsh and the performance expectations might even cross the line.

These contestants sign up for these shows on their own hoping to win the million dollar prize. Their arms are not being broken to get them to sign on. They have seen the show before they signed on and know what will be expected of them. So if the trainers tell them to run faster or do more sit ups and they're ready to die,  they do it for the chance at the MONEY!

If you get a chance, check out this show if you haven't already. It airs on NBC and you can find out when the next series will be on and watch repeat episodes on-line.

Housewives of ... crawling out from under rocks!

Well, people we have more housewives selling their wares from every corner of the US. If your caught up in their drama then you already know that these housewives are from the upper societies of Atlanta, New Jersey, New York, the OC, DC, and now watch out because here they come from Beverly Hills. Just what we need, more women pretending to hate and love each other and who are neurotic. Besides having their fifteen minutes of fame, these housewives are hoping for more riches to pile onto their already large bank accounts.

I say we think out of the box and have housewives from middle income families and from lower income families. OOPS, they've done that too, that show is called Wife Swap (another reality show)! Wife Swap is not nearly as popular a show than the Housewives of (wherever). I guess society finds the housewives that are financially well off, and more often than not plastic barbies, more fascinating than watching "Jane Smith" who lives in some unheard of town and live each day with what God gave them.

Lets compare the housewives from "The Housewives of DC" - (See Below)

And housewives from the show "Wifeswap" - (see below)

If you are interested in checking out the "Housewives of ... ", their show can be found on BRAVO TV throughout the year and repeat shows online. Wifeswap can be found on the ABC channel thru the summer season and there are repeat episodes online.

"The Amazing Race" Reality Show

At last, a feel good reality show. This show has been on air for 17 seasons! The show is comprised of eleven teams. The teams are made up of all different ages, sexual orientations and ethnicity's. Each team has two people, and these teams range with many different mixes of situations. They consist of dating couples, married couples, divorced couples, and also might be related (parent and child, siblings, grandparents), lifelong friends, sports team colleagues, and co-workers. The stress of competition during the challenges on this show either make the relationships or break them.

The object of the game is to meet and succeed at many different challenges. Whatever team is the first to make it to the end wins! The feel good part about this show is how some of these people pull together during adversities and many parts are funny. Truly shows what mankind is really made of. I love this show.

Sister Wives?????

Really? Really? Are we this bored? What's next? This show is despicable and a embarrassment to humanity. The glorization of a man having his cake and eating it too, and getting away with it, never mind that it is against the law. If you wish to see what the media deems as entertaiment, check out the link. Here is a picture of the clan on Oprah.

TLC stars of the show 'Sister Wives' - Christine, Janelle, Meri, Kody Brown and Robyn are seated on the couch for an interview with Oprah Winfrey airing Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010.

Teen Mom Reality Show Controversy

www.mtv.com/shows/teen_mom/season_2/series.jhtml
http://www.gsusignal.com/perspectives/is-the-teen-pregnancy-media-craze-helpful-or-harmful-1.2143877

This reality show has been said to portray young pregnancy as difficult and chaotic but also a gateway to fame. The reality show these girls have signed up for portrays their journeys through getting pregnant at such a young age of sixteen to having their babies and dealing with life's issues after. The issue as to whether teens that have been watching this show are seeing pregnancy at such a young age as to their "fifteen minutes of fame" is worrisome.

The teens that are now on the show have shown that becoming young mothers has definitely been difficult to say the least. Getting pregnant at such a young age of sixteen has changed their life's paths. Since having their babies, these girls have been struggling with motherhood, finishing school, working for their financial needs, and dealing with family issues such as drugs and domestic violence.

I think this show, while showing a lot of interesting points, is also showing that teen pregnancy is NOT the way to go and that SAFE sex is of the utmost importance. Teenagers that do get pregnant at an early age are not only affecting their own lives, but are also affecting the lives of their unborn children and the family around them.
